We Should Teach Patriotism To The Young Generation

The generations of a nations is a key holder to its nation's future. SInce they are the key holder, so it's up to them whether they'll open the door that will lead their country to the better future or the door that will take their country to a path of destruction. Therefore, it is important to create the best quality of the generations and the first step to do it is by teaching them about patriotism. Here are the reasons of why we should teach patriotism to the young generation:

1. With that nationalism they will keep our country because who will love our country if not us? Because they are the one who will support our country. Like a tree, it has to have a strong root to make it still stand strong even if hit by the windstorm, heavy rain, and other things. The same goes to the young generation. They have to be given a strong basic so that they can grow stronger to a better future even if they are faced with hindrance. If we do not teach them, they will have lack knowledge about their country. And they will have more possibilities to betray their own nations. By teaching the patriotism, we are teaching them how to think and behave with nationalism.

2. Because the thing that change our country's history is the patriotism of the young. Started from Soempah Pemoeda in 1928 until the Reformation Era in 1998. All of that problem happened and disturbed our country, but with the nationalism and patriotism of the young, who still have strong energy, the problem can be solved. And if we don't teach patriotism to the young generation there is a big possibilites that there will come a time when there is a generation without nationalism and patriotism. And if that time happen, that means every sweat and sacrifice of the young generation before us is nothing. Every sweat, blood and the blaze of  the love for the country and the effort to defend the country is nothing? And in the end, the country that they loved will come to an end because the young generation did not have any nationalism and patriotism anymore. Ofcourse they, and us right now, did not want that to happen.

Based of the reasons above, we really need to teach our young generations about patriotism. By teaching our young generations about patriotism, we are not only keep our country to stand strong but also to respect our country hero before us. These are some ways that we could teach them about patriotism:

1. Telling them the history of our country to make them understand more and love our country.

2. By the ceremony every monday.

3. Through the Subject 'Pancasila and Nationality Education'

4. By showing them the example through our action.
